Step One
CenTec’s recommended first step in developing a fully proficient Maintenance Technician is to measure both the aptitude and technical skills capabilities of each apprentice. Before investing heavily into a training program, the client should "pre-determine" the learning capability of each individual. Our aptitude test was developed by an Industrial Psychologist and is able to assess the aptitude of the individual to successfully master advanced electrical & mechanical skills. It screens out candidates that do not have the ability to become a "fully proficient” multi-skilled technician.
Step Two
The next step of development consists of a training development plan with OJT. CenTec, Inc. delivers more than 200,000 student hours of training per year. Classes are typically 50% theory and 50% hands on. This process normally requires 2-5 years for a candidate to progress to a fully proficient craftsman.
Accelerated Technical Skills (ATS) Program
CenTec, Inc. developed the Accelerated Technical Skills (ATS) training program that is delivered in small groups and concentrates on practical and OJT training. This apprenticeship program is designed to provide multi-skilled industrial maintenance employees for our clients. The program is 10 months long and consists of 17 weeks of multi-skilled classroom and hands-on simulation training, along with 24 weeks of OJT with the sponsoring client.
CenTec, in conjunction with our clients, is offering opportunities for individuals to become Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technicians through a 10 month apprenticeship program.
